Minor Spoilers: Seven has renewed its female melodrama Winners & Losers for a third season.

Stars Melissa Bergland, Virginia Gay, Zoe Tuckwell-Smith and Melanie Vallejo are all set to return, with further cast announcements to follow.

This marks four in-house dramas by Seven, three from creator Bevan Lee, to air in 2013.

Seven Head of Drama, Julie McGauran said: “2013 is going to be a landmark year for Channel Seven’s drama department. Our drama slate is at full capacity with the return of Winners & Losers as well as Packed to the Rafters, Home and Away and the new drama A Place to Call Home.”

Over the coming weeks the lives of the central characterswill be turned upside down as one couple get engaged, one couple splits up and another faces a life threatening event.

Production of series three begins later this year.

A Place to Call Home was originally announced as airing in 2012.

I watch this show – so much better than the primetime fodder we’re fed here in the states.

very happy about this.I used to watch regularly on Tuesdays now use catch up for it still excellent.Just don’t allow it to turn into another Sex and The City where towards the end it got too full on for the generation who watch W&L today to relate to.
