Seven News reporter wins Health Media Award

Karen O’Sullivan is awarded for a story on Peri Menopausal Depression following the death of Diana Bliss.

Karen O’Sullivan, Health Reporter for Seven News Melbourne, has been awarded in the 2012 Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Media Awards.

O’Sullivan won the Broadcast Media award for her story, A Little Known Depression, an expose of the condition Peri Menopausal Depression following the suicide of Alan Bond’s wife Diana Bliss. Her story also aired nationally on Seven News.

The Media Awards are presented every year by the Mental Health Services Conference of Australia and New Zealand (TheMHS) to recognise and encourage accurate and sensitive media coverage of mental health issues, to break down stigma and to educate the community about mental health.

She will receive her award at the annual Mental Health Services Conference later this month.
