The New Normal: trailer

An extended trailer for US comedy The New Normal, by Ryan Murphy, has been released.

NBC says of the show, “These days, families come in all forms – single dads, double moms, sperm donors, egg donors, one-night-stand donors… It’s 2012 and anything goes.”

The series stars Andrew Rannells, Justin Bartha, Georgia King, and Ellen Barkin.

It will air in Australia on TEN.

    Yeah looks like they’ve tried to do a version of Modern Family based on the Mitch & Cam aspect.

    The big difference I notice is, it doesn’t seem in any way real. Modern Family, while sitcom fake land. Has something natural and real about it. This looks to fake. So it won’t work on the same level.

    Personally I also prefer the approach of, Mitch and Cam are just normal people, presented as such. No big deal. Where as this looks like it’s about convincing people gay couples are normal. Which I think looses the point a bit.

    It’s a little bit of a Modern Family ‘me too’ show, wouldn’t even be surprised if they introduced couch time…

    So I guess this is NBCs answer to Modern Family?

    Looks good and its on right before Parenthood in the US. Starts Sept 11 over there.
