Guy Gross has been elected President of the Australian Guild of Screen Composers.
He succeeds Clive Harrison.
Gross is one of Australia’s leading composers with credits including East West 101, Farscape and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
He is the most recent recipient of the APRA/AGSC International Achievement Award, has been an active member of the AGSC since its inception and was Vice-President since 2008.
“Due to constantly changing ways the audience is consuming music, games, television and film the entertainment industry must stay alert to address these on-going challenges. I wish to thank Clive Harrison and all past presidents for their on-going commitment to Australian composers and, along with the AGSC Board, I look forward to building on their great work,” he said.
Antony Partos, whose credits include Rake, The Slap and Animal Kingdom becomes Vice President.
