Denyer down but not out for Bathurst

Grant Denyer is nursing an injury that could prevent him from appearing at next month’s Bathurst 1000.

Denyer was unable to test at Winton Raceway last weekend due to an injury on his left shoulder, the same one he hurt some time ago.

Racing Team Kelly had hoped that he would drive in the Dunlop Development Series at Sandown this weekend, but the Seven star is currently undergoing physio rehab.

Denyer also hosts 7mate’s Shannons Supercar Showdown in which the winner will race alongside Denyer at Bathurst.

Kelly Racing team owner Rick Kelly said, “At this stage it’s a bit of a wait and see approach on GD but we have been testing some good drivers who will easily fit into the car with our TV Series Winner and with Barry and Bruin at the helm, we will just wait and see how the driver line up unfolds in the next week or so.

“Barry is a very experienced Bathurst campaigner; he knows the place inside out and how to get the best of a race car.”

  1. @Dave – Supercars TV have HD cameras including in-car, so most/all of it will be recorded in HD. However, if it’s not on 7mate, it won’t be broadcast in HD.

I think Seven would need to apply for an exemption to show it only on 7mate (ie not simulcast on their main channel). Can’t find a confirmed broadcast schedule but here’s hoping.
