  1. @tiksamikah: AFL or its proper full name-Australian Rules Football, is liked in many more places than just Melbourne such as the rest of Victoria, all of South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory, inland South-Western New South Wales (this is the Riverina region of new South Wales which includes Wagga Wagga, Albury, Deniliquin) and has a strong following on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and in other parts of Queensland such as around Cairns and the Whitsundays region. All these areas I have mentioned make up around half of Australia`s total population.

If you are not interested in the AFL I can accept that. However don`t insinuate that the game only has a strong following in Melbourne. Channel Nine wouldn`t produce an AFL version of The Footy Show for 19 years if the game was only popular in Melbourne alone.

That being said I hope Good Charlotte, Grinspoon and Ricki-Lee put on good performances on the night at Rod Laver Arena. Meatloaf… never again..

  2. @Tihsamikah.. after the disaster that was Meat Loaf at last year’s AFL Grand Final, I’m not surprised the AFL went for local acts this year.

Good Charlotte are a great act.. they’re practically Aussie these days. They’re here often enough.

Good Charlotte are a great act.. they’re practically Aussie these days given how often the Madden brothers are in the country.

  4. Would this have anything to do with Good Charlotte playing at the NRL Grand Final, while AFL could only get some local Melbourne band?

suppose since only melbourne like AFL anyway……..
