Josh Brookes disqualified from The X Factor

X Factor contestant, Josh Brookes, has been disqualified from the show, effective immediately.

Seven has announced that The X Factor contestant, Josh Brookes, 20, has been disqualified from the show, effective immediately.

In a statement Seven said:

During an out of hours social media session Josh behaved in an inappropriate manner that put him in breach of his responsibilities to the program.

After a careful review of the incident, FremantleMedia Australia, producers of the program, together with Channel Seven made a joint decision to remove him from the competition.

Josh will return home to Perth.

An announcement on the new contestant will be made in the coming days.

He becomes the second of three singers mentored by Mel B. to leave the series in less than a week.

This was Brookes’ second appearance on the Seven talent show having previously made it as far as Boot Camp.

    They should bring back Carmelo. Can’t bring back Vendulka (wrong category and frankly too young, just like Shiane is) and can’t bring back Adil (he was with Carmelo during this twit chat apparently, so guilty by association… and not as good a singer as Carmelo either… Mel chose him because he was “hot”… fat lot of good it did him)

  4. If the remaining ‘boy’ gets booted out – does that mean Mel B can go back home and resume whatever else she does?

    Seriously – she didn’t look very impressed when she was given the boys and was probably hoping for a quick getaway.

  6. Wow.. Shocking. He tried so hard the other year and fell at the hurdle, and he finally makes it in this year and then gets kicked out.

    Would have really thought he would have known what was appropriate to do. I wonder how 7/x factor producers found out what he did?

    Man.. Mel B must be a bit unlucky with this show. she had girls last year, and they dropped out too soon. Now she has boys which were a popular category last year, and she’s already basically lost them already again and we haven’t even reached the second live performance show.

  12. Bummer for Mel that she’s left with her weakest singer … hopefully they bring back Carmello or Vendulka – the most deserving 2 who missed the top 12 in my opinion.

  14. Adil definitely won’t be returning as he was involved in the incident that lead to Josh’s boot. If anyone it will be one of the 3 that made it to the Final 6 but not Final 3 Under 25’s guys, and I’m thinking Carmello.

  18. According to many news websites, Josh asked some of his teenage followers on Twitter to send him “banana pics”, aka nude selfies of themselves, during a live video chat with Adil.

    Frankie Cocozza was booted from the X Factor UK last year and they replaced him with an evicted singer named Amelia, maybe they’ll bring back Vendulka or Carmello and shove them on Mel’s team?
