FOX Sports will air Live coverage of Netball Australia’s international season, after TEN opted not to continue its association.

The Diamonds’ three-match series against New Zealand, starting with the first test in Melbourne on September 16, and quad series will be telecast live and available on mobile, online and tablet devices via Telstra. ABC Grandstand is also providing a live digital coverage.

Last year fans were fuming over netball internationals delayed by more than 24 hours on TEN.

Netball Australia chief executive Kate Palmer, ‘’I’m delighted that netball fans around the country will be able to view matches live.

‘’It was always going to be a challenge to ensure that this years Holden Netball Test Series would be broadcast while we are in the process of negotiating a longer term deal that aligns the ANZ Championship and our international series,” she told News Limited.

Netball Australia is currently negotiating a new deal with rumours FOX Sports and Channel 9 will share the coverage.

FOX Sports has partnered with Netball Australia to ensure netball fans across the country are able to watch every match of this year’s Holden Netball Test Series LIVE.

The world’s best netballers return to FOX Sports following a deal with Netball Australia to broadcast the Australian Diamonds’ upcoming Constellation Cup Series along with the international Quad Series in October.

The Diamonds will embark on a three-Test series against arch rivals New Zealand beginning this Sunday (September 16) in Melbourne, before crossing the Tasman to play the final two Tests on September 20 and 23.

Kicking off in October, the Quad Series will feature four of the world’s best teams competing in the sport’s toughest international arena. Australia will take on New Zealand, England and South Africa in the series which will feature six double headers played across Australia and New Zealand.

FOX Sports will provide Australian television’s only LIVE broadcast of both the Constellation Cup and international Quad Series.

  1. What happend to the politicians promise of free to air sports coverage. I think this is such a sad day for netball. I will not be getting pay TV for one sport. Shame I used to love it.

  2. Nooooooo! I am devastated! I have never wanted foxtel and was personally delighted with 10 and One HD’s coverage of the netball. Sure there were some delays but we saw ALL matches and some of the important ones were live. I don’t see what people were complaining about. Back in the ABC days we would sometimes only see one match from the whole round and it was often cut down to fit in an hour. So now I am going to miss out on the netball or fork out for foxtel just to see it. Now I love my netball but I just can’t justify getting foxtel for only one thing! Does anyone know how Nine will be involved? I personally can’t see Nine showing it any more respect than 10 did, and doubt that there would be any live coverage shown there. But even if they screened it in the middle of the night it will be better than not at all. This has totally ruined my day!

  3. Fair enough with Netball moving away from Ten, and going to Foxtel. A shame though, on Ten’s sid,e that they couldn’t air games live (or near-live), instead of delayed broadcasts by over 24 hours.

I just hope that if Nine do get any FTA coverage, that they treat the game better than what Ten did.

  4. Good on you Fox Sports… you might need to create ONE more channel for all these extra sports you’re picking up from someONE else, after ONE particular network decided to buy everything for their ONE former sports channel, then not show any of them.
