According to reports, Randy Jackson is no longer judging American Idol but will still remain a part of the show.

There has been speculation he would be exiting the judging role, as the show revamps its panel.

TMZ  reports Jackson will be a mentor on the FOX talent series.

Mariah Carey is already confirmed on the show and “Nicki Minaj’s deal is 99% done.”

Keith Urban has been rumoured to join, potentially impacting on a return for The Voice, with a fourth judge to be revealed.

Jackson and host Ryan Seacrest are the show’s only original on air talent.

  1. @michaeloz – sorry but no drama is going to pull the numbers some of the reality shows make. I don’t see why both can’t co-exist and play nice. Fact is they are both going nowhere – like sometimes you can crave a fatty burger or a beer which can be great in moderation.

  2. I’d like to see Jimmy Iovine take Randy’s chair.

Would love to see Keith Urban on the judging panel. Given the country stars the show has produced, it makes sense for the genre to be represented.
I really can’t fathom why they’d want Nicki Minaj, other than for some manufactured ‘fights’ with Mariah for publicity..

  3. Or…..

A few American TV producers could have a meeting, do some brainstorming, and come up with a new idea. Maybe something thats not talent show related?

Something written by professional writers, acted by professional actors, produced by real producers and watched by millions?

Reality TV is dumbing us all down.
