The ‘best possible outcome for teams and fans’ would have been letting this game be played at 2.30 in the arvo (and showing it in high definition)

Anthony: I actually asked Seven a few weeks ago for some updated imagery and was told this one was fine…

Now this should be interesting if 7TWO has a high rating number, it will show the penetration of digital TV and the strength of viewers ‘switching’ to a multichannel as they would a main channel.

I think it is a great move by Seven, bring on 100% digital multi channels!

But David, why do you always use the old logos and opener images?

funny how simple basic common sense works, all ch7 ever seem to have to do to win ratings, is to be sensible, everyone else runs around like headless chickens

The only thing that could make this better is proper HD broadcasting of the game on 7Mate. The upgauged coverage on Foxtel isn’t proper HD unfortunately.

Very mature decision – I would’ve thought that almost everyone is happy on this occasion… and even those Seven News loyalists who also want to follow the big footy game can get their news fix after the game’s over at 8pm.
    Good work everyone!

7 need to be congratulated here…they have clearly shown the other networks the advantages with multi channels, the others are either too dumb or scared to embrace the idea that the viewer will follow the show… If it is good enough… The others have dipped thir toe in moving shows to accommodate sport…7 took a huge leap…and I think it has paid off

This is a big part of why ch7 continue to win the ratings. Ch9 could have done this for the nrl on Saturday. Gyngell seems too smug to implement common sense. Good on ch7 once again.
