@Chrisb, couldn’t agree more with you. But the fact is that viewer’s don’t watch Peter Mitchell, weeknights or Sunday night in Melb.
They need a fresher presenter. 7 news stole the graphic from 9 news and still 7 news is not working in Melb.
My thought’s are only that viewers don’t like his presentation.
With 9 News in Melb at least you get 2 see and know the Head Reader/Sir Eric Peace/The late Brian Naylor / Peter Hitchener.
When you see Peter Mitchell doing updates during the evening they are recorded. Not like 9 news.
D.K should look into that.
i dont think Mitchell is the problem, the same team were rating nearly double what they are now a couple of years ago. The content has gone severely downhill, and they look like nine light from the backdrop to the graphics. They need to do their own thing and restore the brand back to a credible news service.
btw how did the revival of The Great Outdoors go?
With 9 News already won the year in Melbourne and Sydney, what’s going to happen to Deal or No Deal?
@Kenny – 9 News in Sydney and Melbourne have both won the rating’s year for 2012!!
@GG, couldn’t agree more!! Looking at this year’s figure’s in Melb 7 news is looking hopeless. With Mitchell being beaten every week and now every Sunday, it said alot regarding viewers not liking the way he presents the news.
@Kenny, if you read my comment correctly it was clear i was talking about 7 news in Melb. They are getting thrashed by 9 news. As said they haven’t won a week all year!
@Sanndy – Maybe it’s just that viewers have woken up to the fact Seven’s Melbourne news really doesn’t know what it is doing, or what it wants to be.
From a journalistic and television production point of view, it’s all over the place.
And Nine News Sydney waaaay down on usual Sunday figs. Beaten by 7 for the first time since????? Nearly shed half.
Ahhh….no NRL lead-in.
7 news( Melb) Sunday with Peter Mitchell still getting beaten by 9 news (Melb).
People like knowing who’s going 2 be reading the news weeknights, taking Mitchell off on a Friday night seem’s a bad move.
I couldn’t see them doing that at 9 and why would they with the huge figures they are getting.
7 is trying everything and its not working/2 newsreader service/1 hour service/or fresh new presenter’s. They can’t keep going the way they are in news, its shocking!!
