TEN appoints network Head of Publicity

TEN promotes Catherine Donovan to the role of network Head of Publicity.

TEN has appointed a new network Head of Publicity following the exit of Jo’an Papadopolous in August.

Network Publicity Manager – Sport, Catherine Donovan, has been promoted to the position.

Donovan has been with TEN since 2003, with other roles including Sydney Publicity Manager for TEN. Prior to her roles with TEN she was with Warner Village Theme Parks.

Since July, Publicity has come under the portfolio of director of corporate and public communications, Neil Shoebridge.

TEN is making no formal announcement on staffing appointments.

  1. @Secret Squirrel….I posed this issue also but asking why. Upon reflection I must admit that some of the media sites/outlets can sometimes jump on a new appointment and run with the issues the organisation has faced et.al. and also hinting at the prior person having been sacked and so forth. In other words, conjecture and focusing on the known organisational negatives. This is the one rationale I think would explain their decision.

This said, if they have a good news outlet themselves they can press release and not take questions or engage in debate.

Well, her first job should be to change that. Part of how successful a network is how well it connects with its audience. I don’t see any downside with keeping people up-to-date and informed.

  3. I hope Catherine pays some attention to Neighbours, one of Ten’s strongest brands. Now that the new producers have the show back on track, it’s ratings could easily be boosted with the right marketing.
