Watched about 4 episodes of Smash on Fox but couldn’t get into it and I usually love these kind of shows. Think it’s a bit overrated.

  2. D@GP September 5, 2012 at 1:54 pm -

@SS: Actually, Smash is a great show – one we followed via Foxtel when first screened.

If you have a bent for live theatre or musicals, Smash is a smash. Our interest in theatre is probably the reason we’ve been supporting I Will Survive – but last night’s episode was really dragging the chain.

  3. Secret Squirrel September 5, 2012 at 12:06 pm -

@D@GP – am hoping it’s not Smash as I’m enjoying it so far. It’s late start wouldn’t have helped – after 9:50 which is just ridiculous given that the printed and on-line guides had 9:30.

  4. Pertinax September 5, 2012 at 11:58 am -

You would expect Smash to lose about 150k viewers, most highly promoted shows do. Some viewers check them out then decide it is not for them or then tape episodes.

The 9:44pm start time probably didn’t help.

Episodes at 9pm is more of a problem for Channel 9 than Smash is late at night. The question is what would Channel 9 replace it with? They are already plugged holes in their midweek schedule with Embarrassing Bodies.

  5. GG September 5, 2012 at 10:51 am -

Smash certainly appears to have crashed after just one week.

  6. D@GP September 5, 2012 at 10:07 am -

Anyone betting which show will get bumped first… Smash or Episodes?

  7. Kenny September 5, 2012 at 9:48 am -

Well, so much for Nine’s “post-Olympics” hype. Didn’t last long. Big Brother beaten by ABC News and H&Away.

  8. bettestreep2008 September 5, 2012 at 9:45 am -

    Another disastrous night for Ten.

Sadly I have given IWS a miss again this week. The novelty has totally worn off for me.

How many eps do we need to see a bunch of men dressed in drag shock the locals in a country town?

And the X factor deserves a whack too. I tuned in for a few minutes and must admit I have seen the clip of Bella forgetting her words about 20 times in this past week.

This is reality TV at it’s worst and it says a lot about Australian TV that this is a ratings blockbuster.

    Shame Seven Shame.

  9. David Knox September 5, 2012 at 9:25 am -

    Episodes: 404,000
    I Will Survive: 391,000
others I will file in News.
