Poor Smash, it deserves better, great show. Totally peeved now I have to watch it on 7′s crappy catch up.
As far as X Factor goes…. meh.

At least now it’s official, I missed the last few minutes of the recording thanks to whatever it was that ran more than 20 minutes into W&L last week. That annoys me more than the bad storylines. Why do I keep watching? lol.

As long as shows are very popular it benefits 7. It’s boosting The X Factor or Winners & Losers any harm. It also does damage to less popular programmes on the other channels. It is thus boosting Channel 7′s ratings and their advertising rates.

It does seem to increase timeshifting or skipping of later programmes though and has not helped Smash.

The surprising thing is that Channel 9 didn’t do this with The Voice.

@nik c – given that Smash apparently started after 9:50 this last week, it might simply be a case of Seven being a little more accurate with their advertising. They probably couldn’t bring themselves to actually admit to the awkwardness of 9:52 so have gone with the nearest quarter-hour.

They obviously don’t really want people to watch Smash as not many will stick around for second ep finishing close to midnight. Didn’t they advertise the show quite a bit before it started (I hardly ever watch Seven)?

What odds it’ll still run over time?

Pretty sure this is just a reflection of what is already happening Nik.

See mucking about with show start times is annoying and will switch viewers off!
