X Factor scandal: Carmelo’s time to shine?

22 year old student Carmelo Munzone is the likely front-runner to return to The X Factor following the sudden exit of 20 year old Josh Brookes.

22 year old student Carmelo Munzone is the likely front-runner to return to The X Factor following the sudden exit of 20 year old Josh Brookes.

Brookes was booted from the show under a cloud last night, after “inappropriate manner” during an out of hours social media session.

News Limited reports he “was hosting an unauthorised live chat with another hopeful, Adil Memon, when they allegedly asked fans to ‘send us banana pics.'”

With Memon already cut from the show Seven is yet to announce his replacement as part of Mel B’s Under 25 boys.

There were three other males she cut during the Home Visit rounds: Matt Cenere, Matt Gresham and Carmelo Munzone.

Last night readers were supportive of suggestions to offer the new place to Carmelo Munzone.

Singer-guitarist Matt Gresham, who is also from Brookes’ home town of Perth, would also be a strong contender. Last night Mel B. was in Perth but didn’t comment on the unfolding drama on her Twitter account.

Lucky for everybody concerned there is an extra day before the next show, scheduled for Tuesday instead of Monday because of the Brownlow Medal.

Whoever takes Brookes’ place should get an Immunity for next Wednesday’s eviction, in order to establish a level of support.

  1. Carmelo should of been in Mel B’s top 3.Love Mel B, a great judge but her weakness is that she goes for looks. If Mel B was on The Voice and had the same boys and could only go on their voice, i think her top 3 would be different.

  2. I know Carmelo is unconventional in his appearance and presentation. He has a killer voice. All the contestants spruced up nicely for the first performance show. Get Carmelo back on the show and put him in the hands of wardrobe. He will look a million bucks and together with his lovely voice people will vote for him.
