Alf ‘Flamin’ Stewart is Australia’s favourite TV soap character, according to TV Tonight readers.
The Home and Away character, played by Ray Meagher, edged out Harold Bishop (Ian Smith) from Neighbours, Molly Jones (Anne Tenney) from A Country Practice and Bea Smith (Val Lehman) from Prisoner.

I always said, the day Alf Stewart leaves Summer Bay, is the day I will finally stop watching Home and Away.
@ PJs Ronin, I think organising preferential voting would be overkill! It gives you an idea of Alfs popularity and Nina’s in current TV land.
So if Alf and Nina got together and had kids, they’d be Flamin’ Offspring.
There should be a minimum vote level to be ‘awarded’ the accolade, and I don’t think 14% is anywhere near sufficient.
