The final Dateline for the year will focus on the US Election with both Mark Davis and Yalda Hakim in the USA.

On the morning America wakes up and prepares to head to the polls for the 2012 presidential election, Mark Davis and Yalda
Hakim will present Dateline’s unique perspective on the world’s most anticipated leadership race, live from the United States.
Dateline’s US election special will provide the latest news from the Obama and Romney camps, as well as a comprehensive view of
the final crucial week of the election. With Davis reporting from Washington and Hakim on the ground in Chicago, the Dateline
team will analyse the performance of each of the candidates and their final attempts to convince America they should lead their
country for the next four years.

In studio in Washington, Davis will lead a panel discussion with commentators and key insiders from across the political spectrum.
They will offer their insight on the race so far, and their opinions on the local and global impact if Barack Obama secures a second
term, or if Mitt Romney becomes the 45th President of the United States.

The US election special is Dateline’s final episode for 2012, and is part of SBS’s comprehensive election coverage which includes
World News Australia’s live coverage of the election results from 1pm Wednesday 7 November on SBS ONE, hosted by Anton Enus.

9:30pm Tuesday SBS ONE

  1. This is a great show and gives the viewer an intelligent perspective which you won’t find on most other current affair shows. And as to why we are preoccupied with US elections, well let’s be honest the US economy has a big impact on Australia and its economy so it’s quite relevant to us. The US share market wants to see Obama elected as he’ll keep the printing presses going, so if Obama is elected we can probably expect a good boost in our share market, thus one example of the relevancy and importance of this election to us in Australia.

  2. I fail to understand why we are so preoccupied with all things American election….yes….report on the basics….but must we micro analyse every single detail…
