A call has gone out for former employees of AMV4 Albury (now Prime Albury) to join in a reunion taking place later this month.

Border Mail reports past and present employees and “on air” personalities of AMV4 Albury will gather on the weekend of October 20th.

This weekend will commence with a tour of the Union Road studios, followed by a gathering at the Commercial Club for viewing
of memorabilia and prolonged discussions of the “good old days”of television — when programming stopped about 10.30pm.

Anybody who worked at the Albury studios and or knows of people who worked there, should click on this link for contact info

AMV4 began in 1964 as part of the Riverina and North East Victoria Television Service.

  1. Better give Bathy a call at Ch7, she spent some time there.

I grew up at Holbrook and the ABC and AMV4 were the only options (sometimes RVN2 at Wagga). Remember the good or not so good old days when TV stations like AMV4 closed at midnight to the strains of the national anthem. Ah, the kids of today are spoilt for choice!
