Season 4 of Louie will be delayed

Louis CK will push back Season Four of his ever-so-dry comedy Louie until 2014.

Despite winning two Emmy Awards, Louis CK will push back Season Four of his ever-so-dry comedy Louie until 2014.

Deadline reports that FX president John Landgraf and Louis CK announced that, instead of screening Season Four during the next US summer, it will premiere in Spring 2014 to give Louis CK more time for prep work. That puts it to Autumn 2014 in Australia.

Landgraf noted that FX’s goal has always been to say yes and to give Louis CK whatever space he needs to create as best he can. Louis CK said he wanted his show to keep getting better and stay funny. “I don’t want it to be making the doughnuts,” he said.

However, there’s some good news. After referring to the first three seasons of Louie as the first act of a trilogy, Louis CK noted he hoped the show could go to nine seasons.

  1. So long as it keeps up with the quality of season 3 so far than I am more than happy to give him time. Louis C.K. has created a work of art, so far I’m just ecstatic to see show on air despite its off-beat appeal.

  2. Fans will be back as it’s not a mainstream show designed as a distraction for viewers where they may have moved onto a new distraction and forget about it.

I think the aim is to be similar to what Larry David has with HBO. He can just do a season of Curb Your Enthusiasm whenever he wants and feels like he can deliver. Sometimes a year break, sometimes two.

I have no problem with this. It also makes it more special.

  3. The probably with a long break is will the fans come back? I must admit that shows like falling skies, teen wolf that only do between 10 and 12 episodes and season a year a part are great. I find that If a shows season runs to long it because boring or you get sick of it. I am hoping foxtel will put a new season of SLiDE together for next year, New location, new cast. similar story lines.
