This week on The Project we celebrate the unsung heroes from communities from all over Australia who work tirelessly to turn troubled lives around. Each night, we will meet some of the Pride Of Australia nominees and hear their inspiring stories ahead of the National Awards Ceremony on Saturday October 27.

On Monday night, Myf Warhurst sits down with Robert Pattinson to talk about his latest film, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. We discover the great work of Animals Australia and their campaign highlighting the inhumane treatment of animals in factory farms and the increased consumer demand for free range products.

As The Australian Ballet celebrates it’s 50th year, on Tuesday night we follow the story of a real life Billy Elliot, Kevin Jackson. With the help of his mother, who worked three jobs to support her son’s education, Kevin has overcome the taunts of bullies and has risen to become one of Australia’s greatest dancers. Now he’s giving back and teaching the ballet starts of tomorrow.

On Wednesday night, 2011 X Factor winner Reece Mastin joins us at the desk to talk about his new album, Beautiful Nightmare and our US entertainment reporter Hyla speaks with Ben Affleck and Bryan Cranston about their latest film Argo. We cross to Lucy McDonald on Thursday night for all latest news from the UK and Sam Mac spends the day with Matchbox Twenty to see what goes on in the life of the world famous band.

We wrap up the week on Friday night with the irrepressible Judith Lucy to talk about her latest book, Drink, Smoke, Pass Out. National Bandana Day is celebrated on Friday and we’ll look at the work Canteen is doing for cancer patients and survivors, we meet 16 year old Amanda and her family with their highly emotional story. Sam Mac is in Sydney to cover the Fire Fighter Games and we’ll cross to Casey Stoner at Phillip Island to talk about his stellar career and all the action taking place this weekend at the Australian MotoGP.
