For seven days straight from Monday November 26 music channel MAX is bombarding you with more 80s music than you can handle, with Uncanny X-Men’s Brian Mannix, as a guest host.
Mannix will be hosting The Classic 80s Countdown featuring such themes as Worst 80s Fashion, 80s Sex Symbols, Best 80s Hair and more.
He told TV Tonight, “I had a particularly bad hangover that day, and I bagged everybody so it should make good television.”

Loaded with all of your favourite artists from Bon Jovi and Belinda Carlisle to Cyndi Lauper and Wham! and more, the soundtrack of 80s Week is guaranteed to transport you back in time. Join hosts Chit Chat, Jane Gazzo and Jabba for a journey through the music of a decade that defined a generation, with genres such as 80s pop, punk and new wave.
Strap yourself in for a week of non-stop 80s fun as each day you’ll find themed countdowns, Ultimate MAX 80s House Party, 80s Trivia and more. Jane Gazzo will also be bringing you Whatever Happened To… specials that revisit some of the more colourful characters of the 80s. Those whose star tended to burn furiously but fast and then they were lost in the music stratosphere – think Nena, Toni Basil and Howard Jones.
80s Week on MAX promises to deliver a massive dose of the classics with music videos from Madonna, Michael Jackson, Kim Wilde, Rick Astley, Duran Duran, Eurythmics and many, many more. BYO fluoro and perm.
