It’s time to once again recognise the best in Australian journalism at the 57th annual Walkley Awards.

Leading journalists from around Australia will gather at Parliament House in Canberra for a special ‘Capital Edition’ of the Awards.

Hosted by SBS’s Anton Enus (pictured) and ABC’s Heather Ewart, the Awards will showcase the strength and diversity of journalism in Australia. They’ll look back at 2012’s biggest stories, and the hard work it took to bring them to light in a year of significant change for the Australian media industry.

The night will also feature entertainment from soul singer Darren Percival (The Voice), outtakes from Annabel Crabb visiting the homes of Australian politicians in her series, Kitchen Cabinet, as well as an appearance by The Hamster Wheel team – and Chas Licciardello on the red carpet.

Throughout the night, awards will be presented by some of the biggest names in journalism, as well as by Federal Finance Minister Penny Wong, Malcolm Turnbull and the team from The Project.

With more than 1,300 entries submitted across 34 categories, tune in to discover who will win a prestigious Walkley, the highest award for journalistic excellence in Australia, and who’ll take home the coveted Gold Walkley at the end of the night.

Friday, 30 November at 9.40pm on SBS ONE
