It's a dirty job, but nobody has to do it anymore according to Discovery.

US factual series Dirty Jobs has been axed by Discovery after eight seasons.
Host/creator/executive producer Mike Rowe announced the news in a blog post saying: “A few weeks ago, I was officially informed that Dirty Jobs had entered into a new phase.
“One I like to call, ‘permanent hiatus.’ Or in the more popular industry vernacular, canceled.”
“Dirty Jobs is a very personal show, and it’s difficult for me to imagine a future that does not involve exploding toilets, venomous snakes, misadventures in animal husbandry and feces from every species.”
For its eighth season it filmed Dirty Jobs Down Under in Australia.
Last week Discovery also axed American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior which started life as American Chopper in 2002.

Was an entertaining show for a while but it ran its course. Got a bit same-y after a while.
I watched this show when I lived in the USA and it was not rocket science to see that eventually Mike would run out of dirty jobs. After about the 3rd year is was apparent that he was ‘overplaying’ some of the jobs that came his way to increase the ‘urghhh’ factor. Nonetheless, he’s an enthusiastic presenter and the show had some tremendous moments.
I really liked Dirty Jobs. I wish newer episodes could be shown on FTA. Dirty Jobs Down Under sounds really good.
Disappointed!
