Jennifer Hawkins hosts Australia’s Next Top Model

Exclusive: Foxtel to announce its new host on Monday, but here's the heads up.

EXCLUSIVE: Foxtel is set to announce the new host for Australia’s Next Top Model in a Live announcement at 8:10am via News Ltd and the Kyle and Jackie O Show.

But TV Tonight understands they will reveal Jennifer Hawkins as the new host.

Hawkins has eclipsed other front runners for the job including Project Runway Australia‘s Megan Gale along with other rumoured names including Miranda Kerr, Nicole Trunfio and Liz Hurley.

Hawkins, who has previously presented Make Me a Supermodel and The Great Outdoors, will attract considerable publicity as the show’s front-person.

Australia’s Next Top Model is Foxtel’s most enduring local brand and after the exit of Sarah Murdoch the show was rested in order to find a marquee name.

A former Miss Universe would seem to do the trick.

Update: Foxtel Executive Director of Television Brian Walsh said: “We are thrilled to bring Australia’s Next Top Model back to Australian television screens with such a star as Jennifer. Jennifer represents everything all models aspire to be. She’s successful, popular, hardworking and has truly made her mark in this country.

“As our new host, she will bring her own personal experience, style and brand to the series, giving the aspiring contestants a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from one of the best.

  1. Although I’m not sure what she is like in her personal life, I don’t like her as a media personality.

I’m assuming Megan Gale, Miranda Kerr, Nicole etc did not want the job, although Hawkins is successful in her Myer role, the others are quite clearly in another league and very successful international models.

  2. I think its a great choice. However how is this going to work with Jen with Myer and Alex Perry associated with David Jones? It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. Glad to have this back too. Missed it this year.

  3. I think Jen is an excellent choice, and is someone for the girls to aspire to!
And hopefully she will put an end to the constant bullying that the girls suffer from the judges….

  4. As wooden as Sarah Murdoch. They needed someone with a personality and who is fun, not just someone who in blonde and can (just) read an autocue and smile.

Will see how she goes, but she wasn’t the best on Make Me a Supermodel.

  5. I’ve always liked ANTM but I don’t like Jennifer Hawkins much, so looks like I won’t be watching either. She wasn’t a very good host on Make me a Supermodel. I thought that was one of the reasons the show didn’t do very well.

  6. It’s a good choice, but doesn’t Jennifer Hawkins have a deal with Myer?, & Australia’s Next Top Model, I think has links with rival David Jones. I wonder how it will work out.
