Renewed: Burn Notice

US spy drama Burn Notice has won a seventh season of 13 episodes.

US spy drama Burn Notice has won a seventh season.

Cable provider USA Network has picked up the series for another 13 episodes, which will take the drama to more than 100 episodes, the number required for syndication.

Burn Notice is like a fine wine that gets better with age,” said USA Network co-presidents Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel in a joint statement. “Delivering high-octane action, gripping drama and nearly 7 million viewers for the mid-season finale, this veteran series is a proven staple of our portfolio.”

Season Six had its mid-season finale in August in the US.

In Australia Season Five aired on ONE earlier this year and Season Three is currently in repeat.

Burn Notice still has a fan base who would like to see the show back on TEN.

  1. Its a pity that the multi channels end up as dumping grounds without any thought or what they actually stand for. Just look at the line up of FOUR NZ or even BBC 3, BBC 4 and even E4. They all have proper schedules and serve the audience well. About time that happened here. We have a chance to do something with GO, One and even Eleven.

  2. It’s not great television and I would have said “whiskey” rather than “fine wine” but I have enjoyed all of the eps that ten/one have shown so far. Am glad that we’ll have something decent to watch over summer as I won’t be eating dinner al fresco every night of the week.

  3. I absolutely love this show and another season is brilliant news – even if the amount of episodes ordered is less then the past couple of seasons. I hope that season 6 is fast tracked by ONE/TEN soon as the season 5 cliffhanger was the worst one so far!
@ David – Burn Notice Season 5 is currently making its STV premiere on SoHo (Mondays @ 9:30pm)

  4. @ David, I saw an add the other day for Tens Summer line up and one of the things they showed for Summer was new Burn Notice, does this mean the show will be staying on ONE or moving back to TEN for the summer?
