TV Tonight can reveal that SKY News will soon take over the management of the Weather Channel.
The channel has been owned by Foxtel following the acquisition of XYZ Networks and Austar.
The move was originally set to take place as early as Saturday, but is tipped to be finalised within the next few weeks.
Former general manager Julian Delany became general manager of news.com.au last month.
Foxtel declined to comment.

So Rupert Murdoch will be controlling our weather now? Better replace my tin-foil hat with one with a wider brim.
Does this mean sky will blame Julia Gillard for the bad weather as well?
News corp selling to News Corp – how nice.
@ David – you said that Sky News will take over the management of Weather Channel. Does that mean they have brought it from Foxtel or are just managing like was the case with Arena and Foxtel a couple of years ago?
