Stan Walker to judge X Factor NZ

Now he is a judge of The X Factor NZ, Stan Walker will need to be watch some of them thar Tweets...

Last week Stan Walker was named as a judge of The X Factor NZ, taking the young singer back to his TV talent show roots.

The NZ version will travel to 27 NZ locations from January looking for the next big thing.

Walker was working in a Queensland menswear shop and singing in church, when he auditioned for, and ultimately won, Australian Idol in 2009.

Of course now that he is a judge for the Simon Cowell franchise there will be no more tweeting stuff like this slam when Fourtunate were recently booted from the Australian series:

“#xfactorau that is a load of crap… THIS IS RIGGED maaaan… Fourtunate r the best 4 realz. Oh thats stupid. Oh Lord u need 2 intervene.. ”

Indeed…

  1. jonasboi – not if they go to deadlock (as they did last week). Then it’s entirely up to the public.

David – the group’s name is actually “Fourtunate” (with the extra ‘u’) – since there are four of them (Stan’s tweet wasn’t a typo).

  2. He only said it was rigged because a group made up of kiwis was voted off, if they had been aussies he would have not said a thing.

Lets all get on a plane and audition for X Factor NZ and say it’s rigged when we don’t get in.

  3. 27 location? Is the entire population auditioning? I’d struggle to think of 27 locations in Australia this kind of show could audition, much less in NZ.
