ABC TV leads Walkley Awards

ABC Television won more Walkley Awards than any other TV broadcaster.

ABC Television has won more 2012 Walkley Awards than any other TV broadcaster last night, at an event held in Canberra.

Seven, TEN and SBS were also recognised.

Print journalist Steve Pennells won the Gold Walkley and two other 2012 Walkley Awards for his news and feature articles in The West Australian newspaper. He won the Walkley Award for Best Scoop of the Year for his reports on the legal battle over the estate of late mining magnate Lang Hancock.

  1. I watched it last night, I must say as presenters of various awards, some of the presenters made good journalists. Having said that, congrats to The Project, it’s that first Walkley that gives the program gravitas. Now That was a scoop, Hughsie! 🙂

  2. No wonder why, Sky News Opinionist dislike the ABC so much, The ABC does real journalism or to Sky News “Lefty” News.

    Sky News produces RIght Wing Propaganda and trash shows, like Chris Kenny Agenda and the Paul Murray live the list can go on.. Where these Opinionist misinform their viewers and only tell 1 side of the story. Libs-Good, Labor-Bad

    Congrats to the ABC, please keep asking the Tough Questions to all our politicians, and to keep the high level of Journalism standards as the ABC is known for, We all know that this will never happen at Sky News.
