2012-12-25_2356Writer Peter FitzSimons has sold his second novel, Eureka: The Unfinished Revolution, for mini series adaptation.

The story of the Eureka rebellion has been optioned by Screentime as a four hour mini series.

“The thing about the Eureka story – it doesn’t need to be embellished,” he said. “It’s a fantastic story in it’s own right,” he recently told The Courier.

“(Screentime) approached with an offer about three weeks ago – I just signed,” he said. “The time is coming when Eureka will be acknowledged as the great Australian story.”

Shooting is expected to begin in early 2014, although no broadcaster has yet been announced.

FitzSimons previously sold his book Batavia to Screentime with TEN adapting it into a mini series.
