Rumour: Giaan Rooney for Seven?

She has already been tipped for Seven’s Celebrity Splash series next year, but TV Tonight hears Giaan Rooney is under consideration for Seven News Melbourne’s weather, possibly across summer.

Rooney has of late been appearing on Nine’s Postcards series and Wide World of Sports, but her contract with Nine is up for renewal.

With Seven’s under-performing News in Melbourne, could Rooney become a shift from its male-dominated presentation? Such a move, if made permanent, could also see her go head to head against Nine’s Livinia Nixon.

Joining Seven would also boost the likelihood of any potential role with Celebrity Splash.

A Nine spokesperson declined to comment on Rooney’s contract.
