Over 1.66 million votes were lodged in the annual music battle, defeating finalists Ball Park Music, Delta Goodrem and Reece Mastin.

Man of the moment, Seth Sentry was announced the winner live on Channel [V] this morning during the final episode of The Riff for 2012, and what a way to end the show. The Channel [V] crew, Billy Russell, Danny Clayton, Carissa Walford and Marty Smiley, presented Seth with the [V] Oz Artist 2012 trophy. The Melbourne hip hop hero took out the Channel [V] viewer voted Award ahead of fellow finalists Ball Park Music, Delta Goodrem and Reece Mastin.

2012 has been a big year for Melbourne MC, Seth Sentry. He released his long-awaited debut album, This Was Tomorrow to much critical acclaim and glowing reviews with the album entering the ARIA Chart at number 6. The eleven-track LP was released through Seth’s own label, High Score Records. Aside from dominating TV screens and airwaves with infectious singles, ‘My Scene’ and ‘Float Away’, Seth embarked on a national tour and played at Fat As Butter and Sprung Festivals, as well delivering the most electric Channel [V] Guerilla Gig ever just a few weeks ago in Newcastle.

Winning this Award is the icing on the cake for what’s been an impressive year for Seth and 2013 is tipped to be just as huge, including a trip to the US to perform in front of influential tastemakers at the South By Southwest music conference.

An ecstatic Seth Sentry can’t believe he’s been crowned [V] Oz Artist 2012 saying, “It is an honour just to be nominated or whatever. Oh wait… what? I won? Cheers! Lords, the lot of you! Thank you so much to the homies who voted their arses off! I love you guys! x.”
