Jungleboys, producers of A Moody Christmas, is developing a new sketch comedy series for ABC1 and is seeking expressions of interest from writers.
Executive Producer, Jason Burrows says; “We can’t say too much because the show is still in development, however what we can say is the new series is a pure sketch show with no apparent linking device or theme. While we are open to reoccurring storylines and characters, much of it will be made up of stand-alone pieces stemming from interesting ideas and concepts.
“It is a great opportunity for us to work with some new exciting writers, and we hope that there are some creatives who are willing to empty their bottom drawers.”
“While Jungleboys will produce the show, the ABC will have the final say on which writers will be selected so “Don’t shoot the messenger!” Burrows continues.
Please email expressions of interest by Thursday 13 December to: [email protected]
(update closing was Thu 13 but due to a typo they will keep open until Fri Dec 14)

Dayman, it’s just expressions of interest by Friday. We’ll then send out details for people to submit sketches.
For years I’ve had ideas pop into my head that I thought would make a great sketch. Think I can recall any now?
I’d submit some stuff, but it’s too short a deadline.
I think it’s time for all the TVT nags who complain about the standard of TV comedy on Australian TV to step up and pitch their pet projects.
