ELEVEN turns two

ELEVEN turned two yesterday and the channel hints at what shows are coming.

2013-01-11_1902Recently voted the Best Multichannel by TV Tonight readers, ELEVEN turned two yesterday.

A Publicity Release gives us some indication of what to expect in coming months:

Celebrating its second birthday today, ELEVEN is looking forward to another year of the best kooky, cool and kitsch TV from home and around the globe. Back in 2013 with a whole swag of new programming, we kick things off with the hotly anticipated series American Horror Story: Asylum. Later in the year, we’ll be trying to land a few lonely celebrities a date in The Choice hosted by Cat Deeley, and we’ll also be breaking out the tissues for the last season ever of The Office US.

For our Sci-Fi enthusiasts, ELEVEN remains the best place to get your Kling-on. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine gets its digital TV premiere this year, and the People’s Choice Award-winning Supernatural comes back with fresh episodes on Monday 21 January.

Animation Fixation continues to be one of ELEVEN’s most popular line-ups, and with new episodes of Futurama, The Cleveland Show and Bob’s Burgers it is set to light up mid-weeknights through the new year.

Representing Australia, the highest-rating local series on digital TV, Neighbours, returns to weeknights on ELEVEN and this year and we’re crossing fingers for a big Karl and Susan reunion. Saturday mornings are the home of musical street cred with the guys on The Loop, and Couch Time will continue to have us laughing through the afternoons with Labby and Stav.

The twos at ELEVEN are going to be smashing – no tantrums, just great tele.

No sign of Nurse Jackie or Californication it seems, while new Simpsons will undoubtedly be returning to TEN.

  1. Sorry Secret Squirrel but Wilfred new season is on at 9.34 pm tonight (Sunday)

And Kerry American Horror Story can’t be taken off as it already was taken off ! . I like the repeats of The Office as I haven’t seen all episodes. I think maybe the reason they got rid of the 6pm office eps is they couldn’t show the m rated episodes so the story line would be out of whack at times, also the ratings I’d imagine would be low.

I’d wish to see further seasons of King of The Hill and Allen Gregory (I know it was less than 13 eps but hasn’t been shown). Put Californication on One at midnight like Psych if it is that low in ratings .

  2. Eleven need to do the following –

have a new Thursday lineup with new Sci-fi, not something from the 80s in prime time. if you must play Star Trek, put it on Friday and Saturday nights when the nerds are home. surely they could play something different like Eureka, X Files and Firefly from 8:30-11:30.

a different daytime weekday and weekend day lineup from 12pm, or 3:00 at the latest. perhaps entertainment type shows for younger audiences and daytime movies much like what 7 do.

leave sitcom repeats till after midnight andearly morning as well as old dramas, perhaps a different midnight lineup every night.

find more animated shows for Wednesday, surely they could play others at 10:30. Frasier doesn’t quite fit in 😉

Friday and saturday night late night movies.

  3. Yes, the best multichannel in terms of consistancy. I do love The Brady Bunch, but I agree it is time now to give it a rest now or show one of its many spin-offs. They could replace one other of the arvo line ups with Laverne & Shirley.

  4. ELEVEN need to get rid of shows like MacGyver, Jag, Family Ties, 7th Heaven

These shows have been repeated over & over again. Maybe put some old movies on Sat/Sun afternoons instead of those re-runs.

  5. I would love to be the programme manager for a month on Eleven. They have not changed most of it’s line up for the whole 2 years.Take Jag,love boat etc. Please get rid of these rubbish shows that are so dated and boring. Why they don’t play new Nurse Jackie,Californication and take off re runs of the Office and Series 1 American H.S.,I’m clueless. So much more could be done with this channel but on the flip side at least they don’t have shopping channel rubbish right through the night, so american,so silly.

  6. um, Nurse Jackie is up to date. the new season hasn’t started yet in the US. as for Californication I remember in the Advanced Guides it was meant to be paired on One with House Of Lies but was pulled I guess.

11 need more new content, sick of all of their prime time repeats!

  7. I wish 11 would have Star Trek night. ST: TNG, ST: Voyager, Babylon 5, Deep Space Nine all on the one night. David could you enquire 11 about Walker Texas Ranger and Judging Amy

  8. I hope this means The Office’s last season will be starting in Feb and not later in the year or maybe it means later in the year the final episode ever will air.

Anyway, Good news about Cleveland and Bob’s probably starting in Feb! Cool! Now where are they going to put The Simpsons on TEN? The season looks good.

  9. Eleven has followed suit with the other multichannels. Its littered with repeats and movies while first run content is scarce. And how exactly is star trek suited to a “youth skewed” channel??

  10. Happy Birthday Eleven!

Thank you for many of the TV shows including Supernatural, Smallville, Stargate Universe, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager as well as others. Also thank you David for the news about Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

    @ Bella

By the time I type this someone else might have mentioned the Saturday Star Trek is the one that moved to Friday. So it will still be only two nights a week. They supposedly will have films on Saturday. I don’t know if it’ll be permanent. I’m just glad Ch 73 has science shows on Saturday.

  11. So 11 is II (imagine those i’s have tops and tails).

The only things I’m particularly interested in are American Horror Story, Nurse Jackie, and Californication. One out of three ain’t bad. Oh wait, yes it is.

I presume that they’ll also show S3 of the US Wilfred when it comes out. Hopefully not on a Sunday night this time as that is just wrong.

  12. Shame that Californication and Nurse Jackie looks to have been dropped. Surely Eleven have crap all to replace the shows with? Snog, Marry, Avoid isn’t the answer to all of their problems.

And New Simpsons looks to be back on Ten now? Interesting.

  13. It’s great that the press release focuses on the Karl and Susan storyline in Neighbours. In the past it seemed liked Eleven were pushing Neighbors to become more focused on the younger characters because of it’s demographic, but this year we have Kyle’s grandmother Sheila moving into Ramsay Street, and with Lou’s family arriving he’ll hopefully get some decent storylines.

  14. Let’s hope they give there day/arvo schedule. How many times can they repeat Brady Bunch, Family Ties, Jag etc…I don’t know who they think are still watching them after 6 or 7 times.

  15. I thought the same about new episodes of The Simpsons going back to TEN. And Neighbours this week has already hinted at a Karl and Susan reunion, which I think is highly likely. As there is currently no free houses available for the new family, I think Susan goes back to Karls, then someone in the street will take over her apartment freeing up a house for the Turners. Still not sure which house that will be though. Everyone owns there house except for the share house but that has enough random singles living there to fill it.

Also, this marks the 19th year of Karl and Susan on Neighbours, Toadie too I think.

  16. @Bella, Saturday nights will be a movie and Sex In The City. Star Trek Voyager is moving to Fridays. I’m assuming Deep Space Nine will take over the Thursday night slot replacing the repeats of Next Generation.

  17. 11 needs to bring back The Office to 6pm. Since they shafted it they’ve lost me. Twice a week (now once a week with Wilfred taking one spot) isn’t enough. Surely having Becker on umpteen times a week is plenty.

Because of the way that the show has been moved around by Ten over the years there’s probably dozens of episodes I haven’t seem. I might just have to wait for the box set to come out.

  18. ELEVEN really need new old shows in their block programming.

Also with So You Think You Can Dance finishing. Friday nights now have 3 episodes back to back of Star Trek. Other series also airs on Thursday and Saturday. Its too much.
