A talent for TV judges

More speculation on X Factor judges returning and new judges for Australia's Got Talent.

2013-02-21_0105There’s been a lot of discussion about talent show judges lately, but there’s no sign of letting up.

Natalie Bassingthwaighte looks likely to return to The X Factor, despite being set to give birth to her second child in May.

“I definitely know it is going to be an exciting year for X Factor, that’s for sure,” she told the Daily Telegraph.

“I’d love to do it. I had a really great time last season and I felt like I grew as a judge on the show and I love the challenge.”

Meanwhile the newspaper also keeps up the guessing game on Australia’s Got Talent judges.

The latest rumour concerns Chris Isaak.

It follows previous talk of Sharon Osbourne and an outside shot of Victoria Beckham and Lily Allen.

AGT graduate Timomatic is another name mentioned.

Casting these events is like working with a big wish list on a white board. Once you get one big name it very often means another list is ruled out of contention, to ensure the final mix is diverse and there’s no doubling up of types.

“We won’t be discussing AGT until we have all the judges in place,” a Nine spokeswoman said.

  1. I would be happy to see Ronan go, I found him so annoying especially trying to pimp The Collective all the time and every week saying how Australia got it wrong etc. As for AGT I don’t like Chris Isaak much either but he seems very popular in Australia and Timomatic, I hope not. I would like to see Dannii Minogue on either AGT or X Factor

  2. I’d like to see Nat and Ronan given a rest. Leave Mel and Guy and get another fiesty female. What about Denni Hines. I could see sparkes fly between her and Mel. Ronan is always in the British press saying he wants to judge U.K Xfactor so let him go and. What about Leo Sayer. He lives in Sydney and would be good.

  3. C-Boy – I didn’t catch a whole lot of X Factor in the last year (as I was watching Big Brother at times), but I think with Guy being the mentor of the winner in the last two seasons it would probably show he’s doing something right there.

  4. No not Natalie!! she makes the show weak I was really hoping she would be replaced! don’t get me wrong I’m sure she’s a very nice person but she really doesn’t add much value for the show. X-Factor need to change the judges this time year around hence there’s more competition this year. I also say Guy & Nat need to be replaced with new Australian judges- Guy just goes on and on to the point where it becomes annoying & for Nat just doesn’t really add any value and has this annoying scream.. X-factor should have got Danni when they could of but too late now. Something new needs to be added to X-factor this year!

  5. Agree with Mr. J. X Factor is going up against Australia’s Got Talent so they need a new judging panel to keep viewers interested. They should find replacements for Guy and Natalie (both boring).

  6. AGT went 3 years with the same panel, i think that was what made it look tired and part of why people chose The Voice. i love our panel but would be disapointed if they all returned. there was a rumour that sophie monk and gotye were going take part, i think that would be great. sophie has a crazy personality, perfect for the x factor. a minogue would be good to, try and go for an all aussie panel as a point of difference that i think people would appreciate.
