Turn is set in the summer of 1778 and tells the story of New York farmer Abe Woodhull, who bands together with a group of childhood friends to form The Culper Ring, an unlikely group of spies who turn the tide in America’s fight for independence.

Warner (My Place, Paper Giants, Rescue Special Ops) will play Mary Woodhull, Abe’s wife who does not want to see their young son grow up to become a soldier anytime soon.

Henshall (Devil’s Dust, Rake, Snowtown, Any Questions for Ben?) will play Caleb Brewster, a former whaler, now Lieutenant in the Second Continental Artillery who is eager to fight back against the oppressive British.

Based on Alexander Rose’s book Washington’s Spies, Turn is written by Craig Silverstein (Nikita) and directed by Rupert Wyatt (Rise Of The Planet of The Apes).

  1. It’s great to see more Aussies making it big in the US. Lets hope we get this show here, and that it doesn’t go to Foxtel. So annoyed that the show Jessica Marais is in went to Foxtel. When I first heard of it I was really looking forward to it and really wanted to watch it, then it goes to bloody Foxtel.

  2. its good that australians are making it in america now we can call them celebs and why would americans want to work in australia (jezza the first original one) our industry is so small that there is hardly a industry at all and there is hardly any work for actors& actresses and thats why they go to america to be successful.

  3. I heard about this show a while back on an American TV/movie site. Sounds interesting. AMC has created one of my favourite shows Breaking Bad along with the fanastic Mad Men and The Walking Dead so I will definitely give this a go.
I think they cast the wrong Australians in the ABC series Next Stop Holywood cause only 2 of them got acting roles 🙂

  4. So many Aussies getting opportunities in America, so few Americans getting opportunities in Australia.

I don’t want to hear any actors union whinging in the future
