FOX Footy will commence season 2013 on Friday February 15 at 5.00pm (AEDT) with a special 75-minute edition of AFL 360 Live from the stands of Etihad Stadium. It will be followed by a 30-minute pre-game show and Live and Exclusive coverage of the 2013 NAB Cup with the first triangular match between Essendon, Collingwood and Western Bulldogs at 6.45pm (AEDT).

After a stellar AFL career, in which he was a four-time All-Australian, the AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year in 2005, his club’s leading goal kicker on nine occasions and captain of the Sydney Swans’ premiership team in 2005, Barry Hall retired in 2011.

Considered one of the best forwards of the modern era, he created history in his final season by becoming the first player to kick 100 goals in total for three different AFL clubs: St Kilda, Sydney and the Western Bulldogs. A regular guest on AFL 360 in 2012, this year Barry takes on the role of boundary rider.

Cameron Mooney built a reputation as a power forward who didn’t mind throwing his weight around and loved a bit of the physical stuff. He played in Geelong’s 2007 and 2009 pennant winning teams (missing out in 2011) and also got a start in North Melbourne’s premiership side in 1999, as a 19-year-old, in just his 11th game of AFL football. In that 2007 season, Cameron’s excellent form at centre half-forward was recognised with All-Australian selection.

Cameron alongside Barry was also a regular guest on AFL 360 in 2012 and this year also takes on the boundary rider role.

Rod Law, Director FOX Sports Melbourne and Head of FOX Footy said, “Having two ex-champions of the game join our already strong line-up of commentators is really exciting.

“Their in-depth knowledge of the game will bring a fresh perspective to our FOX Footy coverage.”

  1. Didn’t mind Cam Mooney and Barry Hall when they were regulars panellists together on Fox Footy’s AFL 360 (and Cam Mooney was far from one-eyed on that, so I expect he’d keep it that way commentating).

  2. Will Barry Hall still commentate the Foxtel Cup games or has he been promoted full time to AFL games? if so who takes over the Foxtel Cup spot. Fox Footy need to put Adam Ramanauskas and Ben Dixion on AFL games and demote Mathew Cambell and Dwayne Russle to foxtel cup or fire them. or bring back David Parkin or KB
