MasterChef: The Professionals: Feb 24 – 26

Have there ever been so many dud dishes from a Knife Block challenge?

2013-02-23_0035Tomorrow night on MasterChef: The Professionals it’s an emotional exit for one contestant. But have there ever been so many dud dishes from a Knife Block challenge?

Sunday 24 February, 7.30pm
The Classic Re-invention test
With nine different cuisines featured in tonight’s Knife Block, it’s a truly internationally flavoured program. The contestants must choose two knives. Each knife reveals a cuisine they have to fuse with the other to create a spectacular dish. The worst performer will leave the competition.

Monday 25 February, 7.30pm
Offsite Challenge
Tonight’s offsite challenge sees the eight contestants split into two teams as they forage through suburban homes, knocking on doors and working with whatever ingredients they find. The contestants take their ingredients to the local park, where they prepare canapés for a garden party for everyone in the neighbourhood. Tensions are running high, as the winning team has an opportunity to win guaranteed immunity.

Tuesday 26 February, 7.30pm
Restaurant Service Challenge with Guest Chef Stefano De Pieri
The winning team from last night’s offsite challenge is competing for guaranteed immunity. Split into two teams of two, each team must design and cook a three-course Italian meal for some very tough customers: 120 Italians. Joining Matt Preston in the restaurant is Italian culinary legend Stefano de Pieri as guest judge.

7.30pm Sunday, Monday and Tuesday on TEN.

  1. Well the people whose doors they knocked on, that is the ones who were home, magically had fully stocked fridges and pantries. One had a huge bag of prawns, someone else had 4 packs of chicken fillets, others had pork.

  2. Yeah, not sure how they arrange it. I don’t live in Melbourne, but maybe they advertised on the TV or in the paper for people to let them come to their houses and be prepared.

I saw the ad again Jennome, and he was getting the jars and tins out of the MasterChef pantry. I think it will be on tonight’s show. Be interesting to see the outcome of that.

  3. What I was wondering, I hope they reimburse the people whose pantry’s they raid. And at least let them eat the food. I assume they would be the judges for that challenge.

  4. Well if they have to run around the neighbourhood knocking on people’s doors for ingredients, that’s what they’re going to get – jars and tins. Not too many people have a nice mud crab hanging around in case someone comes a’knocking.

  5. One of them is going to cook with camel, which Marco said is the worst thing he has ever put in his mouth.

Just saw a preview with one contestant’s bench surrounded by bottles and jars, which is a cardinal sin in MasterChef. I think he will be in trouble. They just had something similar in MKR.
