19 Comments:

  1. Tim McMillan may be from Perth, but nobody really knows who he is. Its a big mountain to climb for him.
I suggest they consider adding Louise Momber to the M-F lineup. She has a quintessential Perth accent, manner and seems to do well in the demos on weekends from what I have seen.
Craig Smart would have been fantastic, having been popular at ABC Perth and Ten Perth.
Good luck to the Nine team, anyway.

  2. Tim McMillan may be from Perth but he hasn’t been here for at least a decade. Plus, his news-reading style is awful- like a smug robot.
The job would have been better with Matt Tinney, Louise Momber or even sacked Ten presenter Craig Smart. These are popular Perth news personalities who connect with audiences.
Nine is closing in on coming 4th/5th at 6PM in Perth.

  3. I agree with TasTVcameran.

MCP is being walloped by MKR and The Block on Monday and Tuesday nights.

I would suggest that they put MCP on Sunday nights only and hope for the best.

But their biggest problem is The Project. It is being walloped by ACA and TT and there is only so many second chances a show can get.

  4. Ten is offering me nothing of interest at the moment besides the new Modern Family episodes on Sunday night.
And the only soon to be returning show I’m waiting for is the Good Wife. Am I right recalling you did an article stating it was back on this Wednesday David?
So I ended up watching Revenge and Big Bang Theory (which I recorded).

  5. Channel 9 did well competing head to head with 7.

The Room Reveal got the block over 1m, though the next Room Reveal is being advertised for Sunday now there is no cricket. There it won’t face MKR or Masterchef. It is followed by 90 minutes and the Mentalist staggered against DA and Castle.

Pushing the BBT back against Revenge worked. As did pushing POI back to when Revenge is finishing. 600k is one of the best ratings it has got and a good live viewing figure for a 9:45pm show these days.

Channel 9 ran a long sneak peak for Parades End during POI.

The BBT seems to be a combined figure for the top 20 but split for the demographics.

I guess the normal start time for night time shows is now 45 +/-5 minutes past the hour.

  6. What a complete disaster for Ten. Seriously not good enough.

The same old problem is still in play – their uncompetitiveness between 6 and 7.30 gives their commercial opponents such a head start it is almost impossible to reel them in.

With these numbers on the second biggest viewing night of the week, how can the network survive?

  7. Maybe TEN should not try and compete with MKR, leave it on Sunday nights and make the season longer !

I see TEN are doing promos for the main channel, they need to do the same for all of their channels ONE, TEN and ELEVEN

  8. Hi David, any idea where MasterChef came? Obviously not enough viewers to make the top 20 list. Ten execs must be losing a lot of sleep over this as it must be costing quite a few $$$ to keep the show going as ratings keep falling.
