6 Comments:

  1. The ABC1 does well with 55s, easier to get and worth a lot less to advertisers as a result. The ABC also is getting something like $1.2b a year from the government plus mechandising (used to be $60m/year).

Wouldn’t you expect the ABC to out rate Channel 10 fairly easily since 10’s revenue has halved.

Channel 10 is chasing 18-49s now. Channel has improved its Sundays but is doing badly the rest of the week. With 7,9, 10, Go!, 11, ABC2 and now SBS2 all chasing younger viewers it is tough.

  2. MCP rated less than 521K?

Putting a quality cooking show up against a trashy one was never going to work.

Ten must stop screening MCP on Mondays and Tuesdays and just leave it on Sundays where it isn’t being thrashed.

Sadly – I am one of the few who watched MCP and was impressed with the quality and then tune in to the last 5 min or so of MKR to see what almost 10% of the country are watching.
