@trev – I think it’s more to do with the network that the show is on rather than Micallef being over-rated. The fact that it beat Ten News (their almost perennial top program) and snuck into the demos should tell you that.
It’s good numbers for Ten mid-week and the show was eleventh for the night. I think you’ll also find that it’ll pick up another 200k in the +7s.
I missed Mr and Mrs Murder last night but got to see Shaun in Mad as hell. A very funny episode. His performance was world class. Someone really should give him a big budget tonight show.
Mad As Hell had a great show… hopefully it won’t get swamped by the competition.
Cannot see why anybody would regard the figures for M&MM as good, let alone huge. It finished 3rd in its timeslot behind a movie repeat and a cancelled show and reinforces the long held belief of many, that Shaun Micallef is an acquired taste and not the superstar some imagine him to be.
Channel 9 did well. Nothing spectacular but was solid all evening.
Mr & Mrs Murder lost out big to Last Resort and even to 9′s Wednesday night Movie. It’s ratings will likely drop a bit after the premiere causing more headaches for Ten.
It will be interesting to see if people are recording Ten shows like Glee and The Good Wife, or if they have stopped watching them entirely.
Those numbers for M&MM are huge for a midweek ch10 show, they even topped their news at 5. Bear in mind that ch10 were on the verge of becoming just another digi channel.
I watched TLR and as expected, it was brain dead tv, poor scripts, daft story and lousy acting, no wonder it got cancelled. Ratings will plummet rapidly for this
The ratings for the “Last Resort” premiere has left me absolutely frazzled. I thought there was no way it would surpass 700,000 viewers. It did well in key demographics as well.
“My Kitchen Rules” dipped but the buzz is still there.
Amazing. The very entertaining Mr and Mrs Murder was beaten by a show that has been axed – Last Resort – and a repeat of The Blind Side.
And I dread to think what Glee and The Good Wife rated.
I enjoyed both and it’s a shame that Australia has lost interest in them.
i expected “last resort” to get more then that, but that is still good numbers? do you know what “the goodwife” rated?
