It began with the annual Women in Television breakfast and a day of various speakers from Subscription Television follows. Outgoing CEO Petra Buchanan farewelled delegates as her final official event.
As Mediaweek reports, Viacom’s Colleen Fahey Rush, Selling Houses Australia’s Shaynna Blaze and Private Media’s Marina Go spoke to the 500+ strong crowd about topics ranging from the wage gap for women professionals to the perspectives of millenials.
Shine America CEO Rich Ross gave the keynote address on the theme this year of the Conference “enhanced entertainment”, noting the proliferation of “binge viewers”.
“Just as important as the programming itself – is this marriage to the platform,” he explained.
“The right show on the wrong network rarely succeeds, as it exists as an island.
“It is therefore mandatory to have a deeper knowledge of the aggregator. These insights not only allow for a better sales pitch, but a greater opportunity for success downstream.”
