Returning: The Footy Show (AFL)

The Footy Show returns next week for its 20th season, in the new time of 8.30pm Thursdays.

2013-02-28_2332Australia’s longest running AFL entertainment program, The Footy Show, returns next week at the new time of 8.30pm Thursdays on Nine.

That should see Nine’s Thursday numbers tick up, although the show will also shift from MA to M timezones (has anybody told Sam Newman yet?).

In 2013 Garry Lyon, James Brayshaw, Sam Newman, Shane Crawford and Billy Brownless are back to serve up the big stories and celebrate the multiple Logie Award winner’s 20th year on air. And with the NAB Cup heating up, plus a tumultuous off-season to dissect, the boys have plenty on the agenda.

Despite being “dacked” by Shane Crawford, tarred and feathered in Adelaide’s Rundle Mall, having his head shaved by Jason Dunstall, diving from a 10-metre platform and being injected with botox live in the studio, Footy Show star Sam Newman has survived the first 19 years … can he make it through 20?

Viewer favourites Street Talk, Almost Football Legends and Sam’s Mailbag will be back, along with plenty of new segments and more of the biggest names in the game.

Award-winning news-breaker Damian Barrett will have all the latest AFL stories and the panel will preview the footy action in full, with the NAB Cup Grand Final and round one of the premiership season just around the corner.

Join Garry Lyon, James Brayshaw, Sam Newman and the boys for the latest in news and entertainment from the AFL world on The Footy Show: Thursday,
March 7, at 8.30pm on Channel Nine.
