This week, on One Plus One social researcher and author Hugh Mackay speaks to Jane Hutcheon in his first interview about his new book The Good Life.

The interview was part of a live recording with an audience at the Eugene Goossens Hall in Sydney, another first for One Plus One.

In the discussion with presenter Jane Hutcheon, Hugh Mackay voiced concern about the trend of pursuing individual happiness. He sees issues such as personal ‘branding’ and even the vaccination debate as examples of selfish thinking that ignore the needs of the broader community. He hints though that an era of personal gratification may be about to turn around.

Hugh Mackay is the author of nine books about social psychology and his sixth novel is due out this year. Join Jane Hutcheon and Hugh Mackay for a fascinating snapshot of Australian society today.
