A News Limited headline “Tracy Grimshaw admits drunk, naked hallway moment at Crown Casino after Logies” neglects to mention the year 1998.
Grimshaw’s very own one-day-you’re-gonna-get-caught misadventure took place 15 years ago, which thankfully is acknowledged in the story.
But the headline is pretty cheeky to omit the date, given it has been published 4 days after this year’s Logie Awards.
Grimshaw gave an interview today to Kyle & Jackie O on 2DAY FM which followed from Sandilands inviting her during his interview on A Current Affair.
She recounted an incident following the 1998 Logie Awards, when she was co-host of the Today show, and having post-show tequilas with James Packer before he was married.
“We had a few, suddenly it was quarter to four in the morning, and I had done a few tequila shots and I was doing the Today show that morning”
At 3.45am she decided to have a quick shower before hair and make-up artists arrived at 4am.
“I thought ‘I am going to have to have a shower and get ready because the girls are literally going to be here in fifteen minutes to get me all shooshed for the Today show’. So I took the dress off that I was wearing and the finery and pulled out all the bits and bobs from my hair and went into the bathroom to have a shower and found myself in the hallway. At Crown. Yup.”
But she denied ever having a romantic relationship with Packer: “No not ever. Nope. Just did the odd tequila shot.”

Wow, what an opportunity for a Today Tonight re-enactment!!
A few shots of James Packer, a blurry hallway Tracey, chuck in a few Karl Stefanovic drunk moments and you’ve got a story!
News Limited. Nuff said.
Oh yes, I remember hearing all about it at the time. Everyone was talking about it.
love hearing real stories like this
The headline doesn’t surprise me, why wreck a good headline with the truth?
15 years ago, so not much chance of a video phone at the time LOL
