The project has actually done better the last few weeks. Disapponting night. The project has a loyal following and from people who can’t stand the alternative. Ten would be crazy to axe it in the same way it should not have axed the Circle. It is part of the ten brand

I think ten need to develop Blankety Blanks with Shaun Mc for a early evening time slot.

With Ramsey st rating better than the Simpsons surely it will return to ten soon!!

  2. catherine April 11, 2013 at 7:14 pm -

Can I just say this season of the good wife has been fantastic.

  3. David Knox April 11, 2013 at 4:33 pm -

Jimbo: Producers don’t badger me to delete comments, the world doesn’t work that way because they know the reaction they would get. There is no issue in criticing the show. It would have been deleted for not complying with Comments Policy, but I don’t recall what the specifics were. If a comment is deleted after it means I shouldn’t have approved it first. Reach me via the Contact page if you wish to discuss further, thanks.

  4. JimboJones April 11, 2013 at 4:02 pm -

    @Pete

On paper Mrs & Mrs Murder looks good – interesting premise, good actors, good production values. But it’s let down by the same bland, cloyingly mediocre writing that plagues most Australian TV and movies.

The humour (if you can call it that) is lame. It makes House Husbands look funny. The plots are simplistic and have no sense of conflict or rising tension. There’s nothing really challenging for the audience, is there?

I notice the last time I bagged out M&MM David deleted my post after he had approved it. I presume that was at the behest of the producers. Shooting the messenger won’t solve the problem.

  5. Sacs April 11, 2013 at 1:12 pm -

TEN should buy Minuscule for two reasons. It rates in the Top 20 and summarises their ratings.

  6. Pete April 11, 2013 at 12:01 pm -

    @ bettestreep2008

B grade celebrities diving into a pool? Toweling off and then diving again. Of course it will be a ratings smash but not for me.

  7. JoeBloggs April 11, 2013 at 11:55 am -

Today Tonight is sinking like a rock.

    Come back Matt White!

  8. Darcey09 April 11, 2013 at 11:54 am -

@Jason, Yes & it’s all downhill from then.
Aren’t the early evening programs meant to lay a platform for the later, more important programs?
This is where the Project is failing.
What to replace it with? How about a local sit-com or even a quiz show. They need to find something that the public wants to watch because (looking at the ratings) it surely isn’t what’s currently on offer.

  9. Jason April 11, 2013 at 11:24 am -

@Darcey09 – The Project was TEN’s top-rating primetime program last night. Why would they axe it? And replace it with….?

  10. bettestreep2008 April 11, 2013 at 11:10 am -

Such a shame that good quality drama is being destroyed by yet more reality shows like TV and MKR.

MMM isn’t brilliant but it is an enjoyable hour and TGW was brilliant yet again last night.

Let’s just hope Celebrity Splash doesn’t become a blockbuster too.

  11. Pertinax April 11, 2013 at 10:33 am -

If you read between the lines in David’s Red Carpet interviews MMM is going on indefinite hiatus.

MMM was OK. It is fun but a bit formulaic and it is tough to get viewers watching drama live these days. Even tougher when The Voice and MKR are stretched to block out half your show.

  12. Pertinax April 11, 2013 at 10:29 am -

Of course The Voice needs to go for 2’20” that is 2.3 times the advertising revenue of a one hour version.

So there were around 4m viewers watching the commercial networks while The Voice and MKR were on. But by 9pm there were only 2m watching commercial dramas as people started watching all the stuff they recorded on Sun., Mon. and Tues. nights.

  13. Tracey B April 11, 2013 at 10:08 am -

In the context of where Ten is at now, The Project is hardly a failure. Was a bit surprised that it didn’t do better last night though, esp after all the publicity surrounding Johnny Rotten.

With Neighbours consistently over 300,000 now and leading multichannels, the argument for moving it back to the main channel would seem stronger than ever.

As for Mr & Mrs M, I fear it wouldn’t catch on even if Ten was in better shape. While I applaud the risk taking, I just can’t warm to the premise.

  14. William April 11, 2013 at 10:00 am -

They are going to get a lifeline next week for MMM as The Voice is out and that way it will pull more ratings but The Voice seriously doesn’t need to go for 2 hrs it should go between 1 and 1 1/2 hours

  15. Darcey09 April 11, 2013 at 9:59 am -

Once again, may I state that I don’t hate the Project.
I hate the way that people pretend that it is a success, when clearly,in ratings terms, it isn’t.
Of course, if I loved the Project blindly, my opinion would never be questioned.

  16. David Knox April 11, 2013 at 9:48 am -

Yes Darcey we know you hate The Project. You need to vary the brief.

  17. Darcey09 April 11, 2013 at 9:43 am -

Yes, Mr & Mrs Murder is a failure. That doesn’t mean it will be axed. Ten loves to hold onto its failures.
Why else would the Project still be on air?

  18. Pete April 11, 2013 at 9:22 am -

Wow. Mr and Mrs Murder is officially a failure.
