Been recording The Following to watch on the weekend and so far have loved it – some seriously scary moments. Have also recorded Hannibal out of curiosity – sounds like it should be okay. Anything of interest after The Voice is always recorded as I have little faith in it ending on time.

  2. JimboJones April 18, 2013 at 11:07 pm -

@Solopop – they watch repeats of BBT because it’s the only thing remotely resembling comedy on TV, apart from The Thick Of It. What else are they going to watch? Two And A Half Men? Repeats of crap like Lowdown or Laid on ABC? Repeats of Please Like Me on ABC2?

I remember the 1980s and 1990s when no matter when you turned on the TV, or to which channel, there was comedy galore. Sitcoms (funny ones at that), sketch, panel shows, standup, movie comedy. Where did all the comedy go???

  3. Solopop April 18, 2013 at 8:41 pm -

Why do people continually watch re-runs of the Big Bang Theory? It’s such a bad show.

  4. catherine April 18, 2013 at 4:33 pm -

Another great episode of the good wife last night

  5. emurray April 18, 2013 at 4:09 pm -

Extremely annoyed at nine as same thing occurred with the advertised The Following encore which was still on epg yesterday morning replaced by Weeds. But did – enjoy is not the right word – Hannibal but very gory

  6. MuchoTB April 18, 2013 at 2:44 pm -

@Chris B: I don’t know whether Arrow will be a hit for Nine or not, but I am definitely a big fan of the show. It’s my favourite drama to have premiered this season next to Elementary and Golden Boy, and I’m pretty tired of Nein stuffing it around by pushing the premiere back for weeks on end. It’s like they’re not even giving it a chance.

  7. Belinda April 18, 2013 at 1:32 pm -

I think the problem with The Following was premiering it once it had all started to go downhill in the US. That said, my PVR decided to record the scheduled late night encore of last night’s episode, which turned out to be Weeds and 20/20. So will Gem/Nine/Go be encoring this week’s episodes?

  8. Secret Squirrel April 18, 2013 at 11:10 am -

@Chris B – I agree, the numbers for The Following are unlikely to have been significantly better if it had been fast-tracked. If anything outside of the show itself is having a negative effect, it’ll be that it is being shown two nights a week which makes it harder for people to commit to.

Also watched Hannibal last night. Not too bad. Mads Mikkelsen was as good as I thought he would be but I liked Hugh Dancy’s portrayal of Will Graham too.

  9. Lizzie May April 18, 2013 at 10:32 am -

I keep attempting to watch M&MM but find it awkward and clumsy and usually only last about ten minutes. Please, whoever is in charge, keep Shaun away from straight acting.

  10. Chris B April 18, 2013 at 9:54 am -

Daniel, are you suggesting that if The Following had been ‘fastracked’ or ‘express from the US’, it would have rated substantially more? 100K more, or perhaps 400K+ more viewers to hit the magic million?
MuchoTB, do you believe by holding back Arrow, Nine will suffer a similar fate with that series?
My hunch is that Seven have screwed Hannibal by ‘fastracking’.
TV Tonighters, can someone please produce reliable and accurate ‘download’ numbers? . Let’s back up assumptions with some science.

  11. danny April 18, 2013 at 9:50 am -

In the last eight days of watching Seven throughout the day, evening and night, I didn’t see a single advertisement for “Hannibal” which somewhat surprised me. Given the nature of its content, I can understand why promos were limited.

It’s a great show that deserves better numbers.

  12. Pertinax April 18, 2013 at 9:44 am -

How seriously did Seven think viewers were going to take Hannibal when they premiered it at 10pm on Wednesday?

  13. Pertinax April 18, 2013 at 9:41 am -

Without The Voice it all starts going downhill quickly for Channel Nine.

  14. MuchoTB April 18, 2013 at 9:22 am -

No sign of Hannibal in the top 20. And lol @ The Following only getting 589k. I like the show but Nein really dropped the ball pulling the premiere of Arrow to screen the show twice a week, and now it is pulling awful numbers.

  15. Daniel April 18, 2013 at 9:20 am -

Bye Bye to The Following. Serves Channel Nine right for waiting so long to show it…
