2013-05-24_1648Following the death of Hazel Hawke, Australian Story will feature an updated edition of the episode that first aired ten years ago.

This episode also won Australian Story a Logie Award.

It will feature interviews and other material from those closest to Mrs Hawke in her final days plus an introduction by Ita Buttrose.

The death of the former First Lady is generating a huge groundswell of public affection and mourning.

She has been described as Australia’s Eleanor Roosevelt.

With close cooperation from the family, Australian Story will showcase the highlights of a courageous, ground-breaking and sometimes tumultuous life, marked by public service as well as personal triumphs and hard knocks.

Monday, May 27 at 8pm on ABC1.

  2. I get the feeling Bob wouldn’t have achieved what he did without Hazel to support his every move. Australian Story generally do great pieces on people and i’m sure this will be no exception. I’m looking forward to seeing Hazels life.

  3. So many tributes, the best was Hazel playing the piano in her hot pink dress at Sydney Opera House. You could just see the joy she was having….
