Sam Newman retiring? A change of hosts?
Tonight The Footy Show (AFL) is set to make “a big announcement.”
All rumours welcome in this 20th year!

@Rach Name me a TV show that doesn’t try to do things to boost its ratings?
You may think The Footy Show is ‘tired’ and ‘lame’, but to some of us, it’s the only night we can safely watch 9 currently away from all the ‘reality’ shows they’ve flooded their schedule with.
there were two ”big announcements” on the show. They were:
– The Footy Show going to Perth to film an episode in July.
– and that Shane Crawford will be cycling from Melbourne to Perth for his Breast Cancer Awareness (he did a running marathon from Adelaide to Melbourne 2 years ago for the awareness too). Good on him, i say.

Just another attempt to boost it’s ratings for this tired,.lame show, we have not watched it for 10 years now anyone noticed no-one talks about the show anymore…
Billy Brownless will be running for PM with Palmer and Katter as his deputies.
@jimbo I don’t understand why it isn’t shown on GEM live or nearly live. Surely the NRL Footy Show would outrate whatever is on GEM in the AFL states and vice versa?
I imagine the announcement is they’re doing a London Footy Show though.

Don’t think its been as good this year as previously. Wonder if that’s due to the timeslot change. Still watch parts of the show. No idea what the announcement could be.
with the ”success” of moving to 8.30pm, they now decide to move it to 7.30pm and make the show go 3+ hours. lol.
@ glennc. I do hope one day it goes live into NSW (and other states) on GEM. It airs too late here in Sydney.
If it’s just the AFL Footy Show maybe it’s that it’s going live on GEM in WA/Qld/NSW?
