@The Other Adam – “Australia has spoken and they said what’s Mr and Mrs Murder?”

I like both Shaun and Kat but there isn’t enough going on with 3M to hold my interest. The writing is just ok. I would quite happily watch it on Thu when there’s not much else that I’m interested in, but Wed’s are too full, and despite intending to catch-up with it, I’ve only seen the first two.

  2. Pertinax May 2, 2013 at 11:11 am -

Dramas often lose 20% of overnight viewers after a heavily contested premiere. People are keen to check a new show. Some will not like it, some will record it and go back to watching what they normally watch.

Nothing to do with illegal downloading, which has very little effect on overnights, and has always been the case. By week 3 you usually have a good idea of how many people like a show and want to it live.

At the moment Arrow looks on track to settle in with 1m viewers for the Winter. Which is excellent for a Wednesday night.

  3. The Other Adam May 2, 2013 at 11:10 am -

I laugh at Ten’s promo “Australia has spoken and they cannot get enough of Mr and Mrs Murder”…

    …Really?

I like Shaun Micallef but this show doesn’t do it for me at all, loved Mad As Hell last night though

  4. bettestreep2008 May 2, 2013 at 10:18 am -

mason – I wouldn’t be surprised if Arrow’s ratings plummet next week.

Viewers will catch on that we are 20 weeks behind the US and that the episodes could be downloaded and watched without the ads, promos, sneak previews and annoying pop ups during the show.

Shame that a show like Arrow can rate over 1.3m but quality shows like Good Wife, L&O SVU and Mr & Mrs Murder can barely get a 1/3 of that.

I dread to think how the wonderful Offspring is going to rate when it returns.

  5. jimbo k May 2, 2013 at 10:04 am -

Nine did well with Big Bang and the new series Arrow.

Sad to see Mr and Mrs Murder not make the top 20.

Wentworth’s premiere on Foxtel came in at 2nd, but i think it’s ratings could have been slightly better.

  6. mason May 2, 2013 at 9:48 am -

I acted against my better judgement last night and watched Arrow on 9. Those figures are great and 9 will hold it in the schedule at least for a while. I hope it can maintain a 1M audience so we get to see it play out. I am not prepared to chase programs so when they shaft it I will wait for the Blue Ray.
