The last original American Idol judge is out of here.
Randy Jackson has announced he is leaving the juggernaut Reality show after 12 seasons.
“Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season,” Jackson told E! News. “I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry.”
However his announcement comes on the heels of multiple reports that FOX is looking to reboot the entire Idol panel — and perhaps even its producing staff — in the face of sharp ratings declines.
Mariah Carey’s husband (and previous manager) Nick Cannon made it pretty clear this earlier this week that she wasn’t coming back. Keith Urban may be looking back fondly at his chair on The Voice now, although I dare say the financial compensation has been comfort in the long run.

Nicki Minaj would probably have suited The X Factor better – far too much personality for Idol.
Who does Randy think he’s kidding? He’s trying to make it look like he jumped before he was pushed. The only highlight of the current season was Harry Connick daring to point out that none of the four finalists knew the first thing about interpreting a song, and calling them on hiding behind excessive melisma. He showed all four judges up.
Mariah is actually a great judge. She offers some great insights about vocal techniques. It took her awhile to settle in, but now that she’s more comfortable, I think she’s doing really well 🙂 Nicki is a waste of space.
Ewww i dont want keith urban on x-factor australia if hes is going to go anywhere he needs to stay in US i dont want him back in AU unless it is on the voice and that isnt gonna happen unless ricky deides not to come back for season 3
Haven’t seen American Idol the last few years as it wasn’t on FTA, however the talent left at the end of this season has been amazing!

I think its obvious that fox is gonna reboot the panel and producers the ratings gone down 2 much but this is the thing , What is gonna happen if keith urban wants to go back to his The voice Chair , What will happen with ricky martin , Do you guys think they our out ricky martin to get keith back if it happens

Will Ryan Seacrest be staying? He is great at his job, and if they want it to be more youthful, nicki minaj should stay

What you read should have noted it is still speculation. But I think it will be the same outcome.

Mariah actually offered good critiques regarding singing, something with the other main judges over the years didn’t give. It’s just she needed to edit 😉

I love Mariah but all she basically said to the contestants was “and you my darling were just fabulous!”
Nicki has been the only good judge. Keith is alright. Randy is just a bit tired now. As for Mariah, completely useless contribution on the panel – I fast forward through her turn to comment.
Love Nicki on the show, now I just need them to bring J.Lo back.

Totally agree! Nicki has been incredible! The others are lackluster in comparison! Hope they bring Nicki back!
Nicki Minaj was the only entertaining and interesting judge on the panel this season. Keith has been dull and totally out of place, Mariah is pointless and Randy is stale.
